DETAILS

One of the best large-format maps of California published at the end of the 19th century.

The railroads are shown in exceptional detail, with every station in the state named.  Southern California consists of only 4 counties (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino, Ventura, and Santa Barbara), with Ventura no longer called Buenaventura.

A massive Tulare Lake -- once the largest fresh water lake west of the Great Lakes, but now dry due to diversion dams --  is still shown.

The tables include significant information, including details on California's Counties, agriculture, coal mining, etc.
