An interesting look at both the city of San Francisco near the end of the 19th century, before the earthquake of 1906, as well as a representation of the important role maps played in advertising in this period.

The map was included in Langley's San Francisco Directory. The verso presents an advertisement for G. G. Wickson & Co., purveyors of typewriters, farm machinery, etc.
