Nicely-engraved 18th century French map of Hawaii, at the time known as the Sandwich Islands. Includes an inset map "Plan de la Baye de Karakakooa."

The route of Captain Cook, the first known European to land in the Hawaiian Islands, is shown. Cook was killed here in a skirmish with native Hawaiians during his famous third voyage.

CONDITION NOTES

Some faint soiling and offset, a few stray fox marks, very good.
